Yes, our bioplastic products are commercially compostable. They require controlled conditions like heat, airflow, and humidity found in industrial composting facilities and are not suitable for home composting.
During composting, these materials break down into carbon dioxide, water, and biomass. While compostable plastics make up a small part of the biowaste stream, they integrate well alongside food and plant matter. If not fully broken down in one composting cycle, any remaining pieces are sifted out and reprocessed in the next batch.
Importantly, bioplastics do not reduce compost quality. All BioPak compostable products are certified to EN 13432 or EN 14995 standards, including eco-toxicity testing to ensure the resulting compost supports healthy plant growth.
